There's a new initiative establishing a collaboration of public, non-profit and private-sector organizations to preserve and promote homeownership opportunities throughout the City of Springfield.

 

     This initiative was started in late 2008, by the City of Springfield, the Realtor Association of Pioneer Valley, MassHousing and the non-profit housing agencies in the city. The idea was to put together a complete program of incentives to encourage people to take advantage of the home buying opportunities in Springfield.

     This initiative is for ALL Springfield home buyer's...first time buyers, move-up buyers and move-in buyers.  There is something for everyone buying an owner occupied property in Springfield. 

     Since the beginning, several lenders, retailers, attorneys and other vendors have signed up with the initiative, offering discounted interest rates and/or closing costs, discounts on services and coupons at many of the retailers
